My sister is getting married in March, in a rural part of Tennessee. She wants everything to be simple and let the location be the focal point. The atmosphere is pretty laid back and natural-feeling, so we’re doing imprinted pencils for the favors. Each guest will get a pack of 5-6 pencils that have the bride & groom’s name and the date imprinted on them… sounds simple, right? Well I had no idea how many options there are when it comes to custom pencils. Here’s just a few:

- What color is the wood? (natural)

- What color is the metal ferrule? (silver)

- What color is the eraser? (pink)

- What color is the imprint ink? (silver)

- What direction does the imprint run (toward the eraser or away)? (away)

- What justification do you want? (centered, left aligned, right aligned)? (centered)

- What location should the imprint be (top of the pencil, middle, bottom?) (top)

- How many? (500)

- Sharpened or not? (not)

Some places even let you choose the font on the pencils, and the lead inside them!

Then there’s packaging… We’re going with a polybag from ULINE and a paper card that i’m going to print a design on, so lots of work to do! And I still need to order my dress…
