Finding My Sewing Machine Manual
I just want to document this for the world, because I had no luck with just Google searches. If you’re looking for your sewing machine manual, I hope this post helps you!!
Last April (2009) I decided to sew some curtains for my kitchen window, but once I had the fabric all set up, realized I had forgotten how to thread, nay USE, my sewing machine. I needed the manual. After tossing my whole house apart, I gave up hope of ever finding the original and set out to find one online.
All I found online, though extensive searching, was sketchy looking sites, none of which were free (the manuals were priced with shipping around $16-20!). I emailed customer service for my machine brand, which happens to be WHITE - because I saw someone on a message board say they asked for it and the company sent it to them for free. My response came a week later, and it said “we don’t have your manual in PDF format yet, send a $13 check to Tennessee and we’ll mail you a photocopy of the manual.”
I didn’t really want to do that, so I let the summer go by and worked on other projects instead. Today, I finally decided I was ready to pay whatever money I had to to get the damn manual, so I dug up that email and called the phone number on it -because she had also said I could place my order over the phone with a credit card.
After a TWENTY minute wait for someone to pick up (you get that lovely recording ‘we care about your call! no one is available! please hold!’ message) - someone finally did! She told me my manual was now available for download pointed me to THIS SITE:

If you have a WHITE brand sewing machine and are looking for the instruction manual, type in just the letter “W” and your machine’s model number. In my case it was W935. The results should show your machine’s manual with a “Free Download” button on the right. Yay!!
Now you may be asking - there’s a 935 model number SINGER machine - is that what I just downloaded? The answer is NO. The customer service rep told me that Singer is White’s sister company and that they store all WHITE downloadable manuals. I opened my file and verified, this is my machine, my manual. Now it’s a terrible photocopy that doesn’t leave much depth in the images, but it will do. And it was FREE.
Happy sewing!
