First favorite artist, circa ‘85. I was about 5 and saw her video for Time After Time on MTV at the home of some who was babysitting me (I also remember going to a monster truck rally with these people, go figure). If 80s fashion must return, let’s do it up like Cyndi!
The first time I saw the trailer for The Social Network, the thing that really struck me (besides how awesome Jesse Eisenberg is) was the choral version of Radiohead’s Creep - because it’s so much more haunting in this style than I remember it being in the 90s. It felt like the perfect song for some social misfits at Harvard, since I know Harvard has a choral culture. The song is actually sung by the all-girl Vega Choir out of Sweden. This is their music video.

Detroit in 1994 A bittersweet tshirt series by Northup, on the decay of Detroit – a city once called (believe it or not) the Paris of the West. But no matter how grungy it gets, a piece of my heart will always be in the D.
“Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence.” -Henry David Thoreau (amazing photo by Stacie Tatum)
I knew love, love knew me. When I walked, love walked with me. Well I got no hate, and I got no pride. And I got so much love that I just can’t hide.
